Cherry Blossom season is about to begin and many tourists and locals are driven to Korean parks and gardens to marvel at the beautifully blooming trees. In this blog post, I’ll roughly cover the most important information you need to know for your trip to South Korea in March and April. Blooming Dates 2023
The best time to see cherry blossoms in South Korea varies from year to year, but generally the bloom begins in late March to early April. The blooming period lasts about two weeks. I recommend checking the cherry blossom forecast for the year you plan to travel to Korea and plan accordingly, as the timing of the bloom can change depending on the weather. In 2023, the forecast is as follows:
Best Cherry Blossom Spots in Seoul
There are many parks and gardens in Seoul that provide a beautiful scenery during the cherry blossom season. The following recommendations, by far, offer the most cherry trees including unique views of the Korean capital.
- Seokcheon Lake, Jamsil
- Seoul Forest
- Yeouido Hangang Park
- Gyeongbokgung Palace
- Namsan Tower
- Bongeunsa Temple
- etc.
Other cities in Korea
Not only Seoul offers fantastic impressions during the cherry blossom. Many other places in South Korea celebrate the beauty of this season with festivals and markets.
I recommend every Korea tourist to spend his vacation not only in Seoul, but also outside the hectic city and go for a day trip or even longer in another city.
